Kristen Glennon - Chief operating officer

Kristen is an artist and operations leader working at the intersection of electronic music, physical computing, and creative coding. As Chief Operations Officer at Building Beats, she oversees the strategic and structural heart of the company, architecting the systems and frameworks that allow creative talent and music education programs to flourish.

Kristen’s leadership is informed by a decade-long journey with the organization; since joining Building Beats in 2016, she has served in nearly every capacity—starting as a Teaching Artist in the classroom, then leading the Programs department, before ultimately transitioning into Operations. This broad spectrum of experience gives her a unique, holistic understanding of the organization’s mission and the practical needs of the community it serves.

Currently, Kristen is further bridging her technical and artistic expertise as an MFA candidate in Sonic Arts at Brooklyn College. Her practice explores the sonification of data and the creation of interactive environments—utilizing everything from custom hardware builds and tactile sensors to generative coding. Whether she is building business workflows or designing immersive sound installations, Kristen is dedicated to finding order within chaos and fostering spaces where music and technology collide.
