How to Make Beats in Different Genres using Soundtrap
Make a Pop Type Beat
DRUMS
Create a new track and select “Drums & Machines.” Choose any drum kit (live-sounding, electronic, etc).
Pop music plays in a variety of speeds, but slower tracks typically range from 100-115 BPM.
Feel free to copy this MIDI pattern below (and/or add your own edits to it!)
BASS
Create a new track and select “Bass & 808.” Choose any bass sound (an 808, Moog/Reese Bass, etc). For this example, we just copied the root (bottom/first) note of each chord for the bassline.
CHORDS
Create a new track and select “Synth". Choose any synth (soft, brassy, harsh, etc).
If you’re having trouble coming up with a chord progression, use this A.I. powered chord progression generator tool! (ChordChord.com)
