Announcing: buildUP's Sample Flip Challenge
buildUP is Building Beats’ virtual community for women and non-binary music producers to learn and grow by sharing recent work and feedback in a supportive environment.
In preparation for next month’s buildUP on June 8th, we are launching our first Sample Flip Challenge for any women/ non-binary music producers to participate in! All entries submitted and showcased during our June 8th buildUP event will be included in our upcoming buildUP beat tape. Here are the guidelines:
-Use the sample “Bleu” below (created by former student and bbLeader Emily Cronin) in any way you like in your music production - flip it, chop it, dice it, slice it, pitch it, reverse it…the choice is yours.
-Track must be 1-2 minutes long.
-To qualify for inclusion on our buildUP beat tape, your track must be completed & emailed to buildUP@buildingbeats.org by June 8th @ 5pm EST. In addition, you must attend the June 8th buildUP workshop at 7pm EST, where we’ll be showcasing our flips and celebrating our creative genius :)
-When sending your submissions, send as a .wav file and indicate whether your track is mastered or unmastered (Hint: if you created your track in Soundtrap, it is automatically mastered upon export, but in a DAW such as Ableton or Logic Pro, it is not). We are accepting both mastered and unmastered versions.
All entries submissions can be emailed to: buildUP@buildingbeats.org.
