Donuts Are Forever Producer Challenge

To kick off February in anticipation of Donuts Are Forever 16, we wanted to invite all the artists and music makers in the world to participate in our Donuts Are Forever Producer Challenge. We’ve chosen a sample J Dilla liked to flip for this challenge: Stereolab’s “Refractions in the Plastic Pulse.” Create a track over 2 minutes in length utilizing this sample in any way you choose. The competition runs worldwide and for 3 weeks.

Entry Period: February 1, 2022 to February 25, 2022

The winners will be featured on Building Beats' social media and mentioned in our newsletters, and will receive:

1st: One-Year Serato Studio License or FL Studio All Plugins Edition

2nd: One-Year Serato Studio License or FL Studio All Plugins Edition

3rd: Official Donuts Are Forever 16 T-Shirt

Winners will be selected by a judging panel from Building Beats based on originality, artistic style and technical quality. Your entry has to be published for the first time during the competition period.

Winners will be announced on March 1, 2022.

Rules:

- Your track can be any genre.
- Make sure you have the sample in your submitted contest entry.
- Vocal samples, backing vocals and vocal effects are all fine. If you have an MC on your track, the piece should also work as an instrumental without the MC.
