This Sample Pack consists of sounds, artwork, and external web page created by Summer Bridge scholar Kayla Carpenter. This pack was created in Soundtrap, a free web-based DAW featured in our Toolbox.

My sample pack is called “Mouth Wars”. Every sound that you hear from my sample pack was created with my mouth in some way, shape, or form. The inspiration behind this pack comes from a random idea I had when brainstorming about what I should do for this project. I wanted to do something that could be different than what other people may do. I decided to cut down my options since I had a limited amount of time. I tend to think way too big and get lost in the idea of what is possible. I decided to work with sounds from my mouth since it gave me a challenge; only using what was available.
The type of sounds it features is a mixture of genres. Some can be used as rhythmic patterns, backing vocals, FX, and more. My favorite sounds are the SFX since they can be used for basically anything. They also sound really cool.
My favorite effect used was the filter. When I was recording sounds, some of the background noise got into the recording and the filter helped me clean it up. Another favorite effect of mine is the “slapback.” It allowed me to mimic different sounds and it made it really cool to hear my voice or my mouth sound like a completely different thing.
You all should use my sample pack because there are different qualities to each sound that can easily bring your track up. The sounds are simple but complex in their own ways. I hope you enjoy my sample pack!
