Fundraising & Grants Lead :
Building Beats is seeking a new team member with stellar organizational and interpersonal skills, a strong growth mindset, and the ability to successfully juggle many tasks to build philanthropic, corporate, and foundation giving for the organization. We seek someone who is passionate about helping young people succeed. For the right person, this role could be the start of building out your own development department.

This position can be remote, however candidates based out of NYC or LA are preferred. Standard working hours are encouraged for either EST or PST.

This is a full-time position, 50-60k with benefits, depending on experience. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
Cultural flexibility/agility and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment and equitable community
Project management skills to manage multiple timelines and meet deadlines
Strong understanding of instructional practice and arts integration
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to be a good listener
Strong systems builder
Ability to synthesize and organize input from many stakeholders/sources
Resourceful, self-motivated and creative, able to adapt to changing circumstances
Ability and willingness to provide support for services in Building Beat’s geographic footprint (i.e. travel to communities and schools throughout all boroughs in NYC)
Extreme comfortability in learning new technology (Airtable, Google Apps, various music DAWs, Zapier and much more)
Ability to attend occasional supporter-planned fundraising events, potentially on weeknights or weekends
Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting
Essential Position Responsibilities:
Fundraise/finance planning
Grant writing and reporting
Individual and major gift strategy
Corporate and foundation partnerships and relationship development
Board engagement with advisory/strategic board
Qualifications and Experience Preferred:
Extremely detail-oriented while moving fast
Experience in the youth development education sector
At least six month experience in some aspect of fundraising, but not required
Past experience using off-the-shelf relational databases (such as Salesforce or another CRM) a plus
Past experience using custom databases (such as Access, FileMaker, or Airtable)
Proficiency in non-English languages and culture
Familiarity with local arts and arts education organizations
Familiarity with philanthropic community
Active in the local music community and passionate about DJ/beat-making culture
